Character name: Primarch Adrien Victus
Fandom: Mass Effect
Timeline: Post ME3 - Destroy Ending.
Age: 52

~*Magical*~ abilities and strengths: No magical abilities here. He is nothing but a man, but he can be a very competent man if offered a gun and a set of armor. And he's learning the diplomat thing, but he doesn't care for it.

How would they use their abilities?: If given an enemy, he will shoot it. He won't shoot just for the sake of it, but self-defense? Definitely. If he's given a political shitstorm, he will try his best to... be frustrated and help how he can.

Appearance:

Adrien Victus is of average turian build, with a natural stance of 6'5". Turians are a species that stand on their toes, much like the hind end of a cat. They have two fingers and a thumb with sharpened talons on each on both hands, and two toes on each foot, also with sharp claws. Their home world of Palaven had an atmosphere with little resistance to radiation from their sun, and so their skin naturally evolved to incorporate radiation retardant plates on most of their bodies, and mandibles to protect their jaws from exposure. Turian males also have long extending fringe blades on their heads. Turians are also notable for sporting colonial paint in various patterns, depending on their colony of origin, however it is never stated where each originates.

Adrien himself is nothing spectacular for a turian. His most notable attributes would be his slightly larger than average mandibles that flare along his jaw (aka: the mandibles that are large enough to rent space on), his darkened muzzle, and the ornate, sweeping, off-white colonial markings adorning his face and fringe (other notable turians with similar but not exact markings would be Sparatus - the Turian Councilor, and Nihlus Kryik, the Spectre who was taught under Saren Arterius).

He will arrive on the Thor in the same heavy purple armor in the final push on Earth in London. The armor itself is heavily scuffed, dented, and scraped, but whole. He will also be carrying his personal M-76 Revenant and a modded M-13 Raptor on his person.

Background/Personality:

Victus has been around awhile, and has seen a lot. He fought directly in the incident at Relay 314* (also known as the First Contact War for humans) against the humans and has been in the military for the better portion of his life, which is where he's most comfortable.

*Include meeting with the mother of Tarquin, his son's birth and also how inclusive he is with parenting despite his military service. ie. Remaining in contact, speaking with his son regularly through comms, being a proud father with no regrets, a friend to the mother, etc. This could also include how Tarquin presents himself later on Tuchanka, with his attempt at bold strategy with a lack of proper execution (aka, trying to imitate his father and failing).

During his time in the military he rose in the ranks not because of his good graces with the meritocracy, but because his loose handling of strategy was popular with his troops and granted him immediate results. He is very aware of his own reputation, however, expressing that his own passion for war can be seen as deceptive, and can make a man appear reckless when he is actually anything but. He's a strong leader, and his soldiers follow him without question.

Adrien has never been one for diplomacy or politics, in fact, he hates diplomats, and he'll say as much if you ask. His life has always been military, and in the year 2185 (two years after the events of Mass Effect 1) as a general, he was dispatched to Taetrus to aide the Turian Hierarchy in the fight against the turian separatist group Facinus, who had reprogrammed the flight controls of a commercial freighter and consequently flew it into the capital city of Taetrus at near-FTL speeds, murdering tens of thousands of people and creating a three-kilometer wide crater in its wake. While on Taetrus, Victus' squad discovered a salarian spy ring about the same time as the turian separatists. Instead of destroying the spy ring, Victus ordered his squad to fall back, losing vital and valuable fortifications in the process. He waited until the salarians and turian rebels had worn each other down before boldly moving back in, and did not lose a single man in the process. Usual turian strategy would have been sheer ruthless brutality, however, Victus realized turian on turian strategy would have caused casualties, and in the process he saved his men with the unorthodox method.

His life would take a heavy turn on Menae in 2186. When the Reapers finally began their attack on all organics within the galaxy, Palaven and its moons were no exception. As a military man he is proudly bound to his men, and his turian brothers and sisters, and was more than willing to die for the cause at their side. Unbeknownst to him at the time, the previous Primarch was shot down from his shuttle as it attempted to retreat from Menae, and General Adrien Victus was the next in line for the job. After Commander Shepard met with General Corinthus and re-established the connection with the Turian Hierarchy, she moved out with the help of Reaper Advisor Garrus Vakarian to rendezvous with Victus directly, tell him the news that he was the new Primarch, and that he had to leave Menae and his men immediately to become a diplomat for his people. Needless to say, he was a bit shocked. But with Commander Shepard's influential words, he resigned to his new post, said his goodbyes to his men (who all were likely to die, later, without his aid), and left on board the Normandy to negotiate a summit between the different species.

The summit didn't go terribly, considering those present. Urdnot Wrex demanded a cure for the genophage, and the salarian dalatrass was backed into a corner - including Adrien threatening to end turian niceties completely with the salarians if she refused - and was forced to give up the information on where the krogan females were being held. Commander Shepard and Urdnot Wrex then went to Sur'kesh to retrieve the females. Unfortunately, one one survived the transfer back to the Normandy. Afterwards, Victus insists to Wrex that the cure for his people can come later, because the turians needed the backup immediately. Unfortunately for the Primarch, Wrex wasn't budging on the deal. Not only that, but Victus had a... 'small matter' concerning a ship that had lost contact. After speaking with Adrien about it, Commander Shepard learns that a turian cruiser was lost on Tuchanka, however, because Victus believes it to be a delicate matter of galactic peace, he refused to offer more information other than his son, Lieutenant Tarquin Victus, is the leader of the 9th platoon, the crew that was lost.

*The Incident of Relay 314 is best known as the first contact humans made with other alien species, notably the turians. At the time, the humans were not aware that there were laws made specifically prohibiting the activation of uncharted relays after the Rachni Wars, and their curiosity tempted them to activate every relay they could find. Turian cruisers moved in to investigate those that came through the relay, and opened fire. An Alliance cruiser escaped to warn the fleets, and very quickly the conflict rose into war. Before escalations rose further, the Citadel Council intervened and organized peace treaties to end the war. Tension between the humans and turians was high until the Citadel Council was saved by Commander Shepard, and later it is stated in a news report that the Turian Hierarchy considered added reparations for the humans who died at Relay 314, whereas before they had flat out refused.

Have you read up on how the game works?: Yup! Flaming Ferret. And you can make money doing missions, mooching off someone else, and freelance work/commissions.
